How much savings do you really make?

Your savings depends on the percentage given by the business-owner or merchant.

Lets say the merchant gives one percent (1%) as cash rebate or cash back. That is, for every one hundred pesos (Php100.00) your cash rebate is one peso (Php1.00). Therefore, your savings is 1% or Php1.00.

However, in order to know how much do you actually save is also dependent on the amount you pay for the loyalty card and its validity period.

Lets have an example:
A book store or grocery store offers a one percent (1%) rebate on their products.
You have to pay Php100 for the plastic card.
Validity period is one (1) year.

Before computing on how much you save, you have to recover the plastic card purchase value of Php100.
Computation formula:
Amount of plastic card / Rebate percentage

Php100 / 1% = Php10,000.00

In the computation above, in order for you to recover the plastic card purchase value of Php100.00, you have to make a cumulative purchase of at least Php10,000.00 within the validity period. Beyond that amount shall be considered your ACTUAL SAVINGS.
